Scope & Purpose
This role works closely with the Project Manager, Dive Supervisor/Superintendent, and Port Captain to ensure the vessel is operated safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Vessel & Crew Management
- Overall responsibility for the safety of the vessel and all personnel onboard
- Ensure safe navigation, seaworthiness, and vessel stability
- Maintain discipline, order, and enforcement of company policies
- Sign crew members on and off vessel Articles
- Ensure all charts, publications, and certifications are current
- Maintain vessel certification and classification for statutory surveys
- Operations & Reporting
- Oversee all deck and marine operations as directed by the Dive Supervisor
- Ensure vessel readiness, availability, and system performance
- Coordinate with department heads and Port Engineer on maintenance and operations
- Maintain statutory logs, contractor reports, and operational documentation
- Immediately report all accidents, incidents, and near misses, with written follow-up within 24 hours
- Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
- Conduct safety meetings, drills, musters, and routine vessel inspections
- Enforce environmental policies and safe work practices
- Ensure crew familiarity with Safety Management and HSE systems
- Implement and monitor Permit to Work systems
- Ensure proper storage and handling of hazardous materials
- Investigate incidents and coordinate reporting with HSE and management
- Ensure compliance with medical, health, vaccination, and PPE requirements
Authority
The Master serves as the Company’s legally appointed representative and holds ultimate authority over vessel safety and pollution prevention. The safety of life, the vessel, and the environment takes priority over all work programs and schedules.
The Master has full authority to delay or stop operations, including underwater work, when safety is compromised, in coordination with the Project Superintendent or relevant Supervisor.

- Daily operational email reports
- Monthly Vessel Reports
- Personnel evaluations and disciplinary documentation
- Issuing Master’s Standing Orders
- Organizational Relationships
- The Master is responsible for ensuring full compliance with all CEES production, safety, and quality procedures.
Requirements
- Valid MMC with appropriate tonnage for assigned vessel
- MMC Towing Endorsement (as required)
- STCW certification (as required)
- TWIC
- Marine Radio Operator / Lifeboatman (PSC)
- Safegulf / PEC
- API RP2D Rigging
- Water Survival
- First Aid / CPR
- Incipient Fire Fighting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum age: 18
